Some news about the TO:C development progress:

At first: We are still there and work busily on the the next patch. Here is what we have done till now:

The escape and VIP scenarios are almost done. During the last beta test we found one bug in each, which were immediately fixed. So we hope that it will work perfectly in the next beta test.

You now get all the money back when selling the weapon in the preround. We will test the resulting balancing changes soon. You also can see now a symbol in the score board if somebody records a demo. We will perhaps change the icon but everything else is ready. You will also see a list of the players on the server when starting a demo.

We also tested the new maps because of frame problems. Till now it appears that there are only problems on one map, but this appears to be fixed easily. The map with the biggest progress is Blister with ca. 85%. We will test the balance of that map soon and fix balancing problems afterwards if they appear. All the other maps look quite nice, too. We almost finished changes with the HUD and the buy menu. (only the buy menu needs some small bug fixes)

We also added female test sounds to the female skins, but we still need to work on both. We really need a person who can help us with the models!

All in all the Patch is almost done but we have to wait for the mappers, who are working on bug fixes for known and new maps.

And we still need to do some more beta tests. So stay tuned!

After 2 weeks without any news we want to give you some information about the progress.

Our coders are currently working on the VIP and the Escape scenario, which are already done for 75%.

They are also working on a new buymenu and adminmenu.
And a skin selection when you join a server (like the AOT version) is done for 99%.

Further plans:

•  Improvement of framerates.

•  New money system.

•  Player shadows.

•  Lower Ambient volume on some maps.

•  Water sounds in multiplayer.

•  Improvement of 3D sounds.

•  Show weapon and zoom in spectator view.

•  DE laser dot reminder.

•  Make nade explosion visible on walls and floor.

•  Clantag in serverbrowser

•  Demorec indication in player hud and scoreboard

•  Full money for selling guns in preround

•  Sniper ~ simulation of footsteps in zoom when walking

•  Ban GUIDs manually via webinterface

•  Banlist manager in tocmenu (manually delete or add)

We don't know when we will bring out this patch, because some of the features are really hard to code. So we can only sit and wait and let the coders do their job.
That's the news from the coding section.

In the mapping section we have good and bad news.
Lets start with the bad news.
Some of you certainly remember the announcement of Blister 2.0 along with some pictures. Unfortunately the map has been lost and there is no contact with the mapper anymore. At this time another mapper is creating a new version of the map and he already made some big progresses.

The good news.
In the archives we found some new and some old known maps, Who are allready done for 25 to 75 %.
At this time we won't tell you wich maps it are, because we don't know which map will make it into the patch.
To give you a little bit of a flavour here are some screenshots of the maps, we mabey have for you in the new patch.
Screenshots will be out soon.

[TO:C Anticheat] Screenshot Sender Update
Written by int2k
Wednesday, 26 March 2008

Already at the weekend, Gugi made a small update to his mutator "ScreenshotSender". Now Mac and Linux users can play again without problems.

As recently reported, this mutator for TO:C is there to take a screenshot at the moment of death, and upload it encrypted to the server computer.

The transmitter ONLY starts the shot when the player dies, and thus is already dead, and not as sometimes "felt" before death.

Moreover, the converter is now finally available for everybody, so that the server admins can examine their own shots, and then to report to the ACC. (Please do only send the Original encrypted data files to ACC!)
