The party on IRC is starting, the crowd is getting ready and we can't wait any longer and will join the available servers any second! The day we've waited for so long has come and you finally get the chance to judge what we think represents a unique, fast and fun game. No more talk now, let's game!
The password for the Encrypted Client is:
asrfB324vddGsreplsam342GsdfD34dFfd3rfaf3d13ddsnsd23o2dQ
Due to the fixed Serverpackage we've released 2 days ago you'll need the following Hotfix for your Client to work properly - it's MultiOS again and should not be hard to handle :)
With the help of the amazing serveradmins out there we were able to verify another UTk24 bug. The good news is that it only appears on 64bit systems running a 64bit linux. The fix also exists :) You can grab it here.
The weekend is ours, let's get the party started! :) And don't forget to tell us what you think about TO:Crossfire Public Beta 1!

With an extraordinary good release of the Encrypted Client and more than 80 servers online already (reminder for the serveradmins: update to the fixed Serverpackage!) we expect a full scale assault on the servers for friday. It's going to be big!
To make your waiting more pleasant, we've put together a teaser of scenes from Public Beta 1 and like to share them with you. Get your hands on the video here:

We already were asked quite often when exactly we will release the password for the Encrypted Client and how we would do that - so we will sum up the facts for you now. Our IRC Release Party will be held on
April 28thin our IRC channel
#to-crossfire on GameSurgeAround
20:00 CETwe will moderate the channel and release the password for the Encrypted Client
Half an hour later, the password will also be released within a release-newspost and we will allow you to download the unencrypted package directly! So make sure to drop by on IRC to get the password as one of the first or visit your community-website of choice (www.to-nation.de or www.to-gamer.net for example) for the password - we'll make sure they support you well!
You might have read my blog post this morning, however the serverpackage is now ready. We were able to fix the Hyperion-crash and some problems with the Webadmin authentification as well as other things that just dont make fun to deal with. If you already have configured your server, please backup your server configuration files from TOCrossfire\Conf, delete \TOCrossfire and UT2004\System\TO2_Admin.ini and reinstall our fixed package. If you want to set up a completely new server, make sure to read the README_YourOperatingSystem.txt in the server's root directory. You may also want to consult reading README_FAQ.txt and README_Admincommands.txt For the advanced serveradmins out there we also wrote a short summary of tested/supported ServerActors/Mutators which you can find here or directly on the navigation to your left. |
